high intensity ex = brain glucose decrease

HIGH INTENSITY EXERCISE DECREASES GLOBAL BRAIN GLUCOSE UPTAKE IN HUMANS.J PhysiolBrain glucose uptake decreases parallel to exercise intensity. Therefore substrates other than glucose, most likely lactate, are utilised by brain in order to compensate the increased energy need to maintain neuronal activity during high intensity exercise.
