Karim Benzema Not Happy With Lyon Champions League Form

manchester united blog karim benzemaManchester United target Karim Benzema has admitted that if Lyon fail to progress any further in the Champions League he could be forced to leave them. The French striker who is rated to be worth around £20million is said to be a keen target for United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who is looking to take the player to the Premiership giants.

The 21-year-old insisted that he was very happy at the Ligue 1 club, however he could be forced to look elsewhere should the French giants fail to get further in the Champions League. Lyon will be facing Barcelona in the first knock-out stage and Benzema is looking forward to the challenge.

He said: “I have reflected a bit on this subject during the winter break. I’d like to keep my opinion to myself before speaking about it to my family and my agent. But yes, we will have to see what happens after Barcelona. We have to stop all this talk about Lyon underachieving and to do that, we need to get past the quarter-finals. I love this club. I want to stay. But I would also really like it if we stopped getting knocked out in the last 16.”

He doesn't sound like a happy chappy to me and if it is Champions League success he is after then he is at the wrong club right now. Go on Fergie...............GET IN THERE!!!!
